A chronicle of the scarves and hats I have crocheted along with links to the patterns or other resources I used. These scarves and hats will go to the wonderful charities I support. This blog is dedicated to my grandmother, Bess Allison (Mama Bess), who taught me to crochet, and to my father, Bill Bishop, both of whom have passed on. I also dedicate this site to my mother, Jeanette Bishop, who has always been such an inspiration to me in so many ways. I love you all so much.

Scarf #4 March 21, 2011
I really love the black/white color combination in this one (Red Heart - Color Zebra), but I thought this yarn was very wimpy. I really prefer a little more substance. My second mistake was to crochet this scarf using double crochet in back loops. With the quality of this yarn, I should have used sc or hdc to make it a little more sturdy. Anyway, this scarf is worked width-wise with dc in back loops only with a starting chain 25, which produced a 7" wide scarf. It is very soft so I made it extra long so that it could wrap around the neck more than once.
