Scarf #102 October 28, 2011

The yarn I used for this scarf and hat is Lion Brand Tweed Stripes, color "Woodlands" (color 206).  I love the color but was a bit peeved to find 5 knots in one skein.  I doubt if I will use this yarn again.

The scarf is done in all double crochet with a beginning chain of 28.

Scarf #101 October 24, 2011

The pattern for this scarf is the "Surreybelle Scarf" which I found on Ravelry and designed by Sarah Cooper (link to pattern here).  The yarn used is Wool Ease Worsted, color "Chestnut Heather".  I adapted the pattern to a beginning chain of 26 so the scarf would be a little wider.

Scarf #100 October 23, 2011

This is another scarf using Deborah Norville Everyday Soft Worsted, color "Aubergine" (I love this color!  But with my poor camera skills and the fluorescent lighting in the area where I take the pictures, you probably can't see the color as it really is).  The scarf is simply all half-double crochet, worked length-wise, starting with a beginning chain of 250.

Now, on to the next 100 scarves!!!

Scarf #99 October 22, 2011

The scarf for today I crocheted using Lion Brand Wool Ease worsted, color "Forest Green Heather".  I adapted the pattern for a crocheted headband, demonstrated by Teresa Richardson on her YouTube video "How to Crochet a Wide Head Band" which can be found at this link.  I started with a beginning chain of 250, working the pattern length-wise.  For the hat, I worked about 3 inches of Teresa's Beanie pattern, then switched to the pattern of the scarf.

Knitted Scarf Completed October 21, 2011

I finally finished the garter stitch scarf and I thought I never would.  I think that I could have crocheted 10 scarves in the same amount of time!  But I'm sure if I keep at knitting, I will get a little faster (I hope!)  Here is a picture of the finished product:

I have now started a new knitted scarf, this one with cables.  I only have a few inches so far, and since it is time-consuming, I will probably only do 5 or 6 rows a day and just plug along until I get it finished.  Here's a picture of the beginning:

Scarf #98 October 11, 2011

Today's scarf I crocheted using Deborah Norville Everyday Worsted, color "Really Red".  The pattern goes like this:

Cross stitch:  Skip next st, dc in next st, dc in skipped st
Beginning chain 24.

Row 1:  Dc in each ch across; ch 2; turn
Row 2:  Dc in next 2 st, *cross stitch, dc in next 3 st; rep from * across; ch 2; turn
Rows 3+: Repeat Row 2 until desired length, then end with a row of dc

For the hat, I worked Teresa's beanie pattern (see link under Favorite Sites/Patterns) for 8", then switched to scarf pattern for brim.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!  It is rainy and cool in Battle Ground, WA.  Fall has definitely arrived.

Scarf #97 October 10, 2011

Well, I'm back from my vacation in San Diego.  What a beautiful and wonderful week we had!!! I would say the highlights were the whale watching trip, the wild animal park, and our trip to L.A. and Hollywood.  Fun!!!

Today's scarf is crocheted using Lion Brand Wool Ease worsted, color "blue mist".   The pattern is as follows:

Beginning chain of 250.

Row 1:  1 dc in each ch across, ch 2, turn
Row 2:  Dc in next 2 dc, cross-stitch across to last 3 dc; dc in each of last 3 dc; ch 1; turn
Row 3:  Sc in each st across; ch 2; turn

Repeat rows 2 and 3, and end with a row of double crochet.

This is my second knitted hat, with a cast on of 88 and done in the round with all knit stitches.
