Hats for Share House

I have been working on hats lately to use up some extra skeins of yarn I had lying around.  These hats will be delivered to the Share House of Vancouver, Washington, sometime this month before Christmas.

This donation is in memory of my father, Bill Bishop, who passed away 15 years ago today.  I really miss him and I always will.

Scarf #108 November 19, 2011

For today's scarf, I started with a beginning chain of 270 and worked the scarf with half-double crochet in back loops only.  It ended up about 7" wide by crocheting 16 rows.  The yarn I used is Vanna's Choice worsted weight, color "Taupe Mist".

The pattern for this scarf is one that I really like and have used once before.  It a pattern from Bernat and is called the "Bamboo Scarf".  The pattern can be found at this link.

I adapted the pattern a bit by using a beginning chain of 270.  The scarf is worked length-wise.  For the scarf and hat, I used Vanna's Choice worsted weight, color "Wild Berry".

The pattern for this scarf is very similar to Scarf #104.  Any similarity to a pattern designed and/or posted elsewhere is coincidental and, if that is the case, I will credit the designer and link to the website.

Scarf pattern:

Beginning chain 25.

Row 1:  Dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in each ch across; ch 3; turn

Row 2:  Dc in next 2 dc, *fptc around each of next 3 dc of row below, dc in next 3 dc; rep from * across; ch 3; turn

Row 3:  Dc in each dc and fptc across; ch 3; turn

Rows 4+: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until desired length, ending with Row 3 as the last row.

The yarn I used for this scarf and hat is Vanna's Choice worsted weight, color "Dusty Blue".

Scarf #105 November 10, 2011

I used a new yarn (which I really liked) for this scarf and hat.  The yarn is Vickie Howell Sheep(ish) by Caron, which is 70% acrylic and 30% wool.  The color is Teal (0016).  The pattern for the scarf is a beginning chain of 275, 3 rows of sc, 8 rows of dc, and 3 rows of sc.  Very simple!

This is a pattern that I came up with for a scarf.  Any similarity to another pattern out there is coincidental, and if there is such a pattern exactly like this one or very similar to it, please let me know and I will be more than happy to give credit to the designer.

Pattern:

Beginning chain of 29.

Row 1:  Dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in each ch across; ch 3; turn

Row 2:  Dc in next two dc, *fptc (front post treble crochet) around next dc on row below, dc in each of next 3 dc; rep from * across; ch 3; turn

Row 3:  Dc in each dc and fptc across; ch 3; turn

Rows 4+: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until desired length, with Row 3 as the last row.

For this particular scarf, the yarn I used is Deborah Norville Everyday Soft Worsted, color "Mint Chocolate Chip".

Scarf #103 November 8, 2011

Today's scarf I crocheted using the pattern "Simple Textured Crochet Scarf" found on the Coats and Clark website at this link.  I started with a beginning chain of 25, which resulted in having 12 hdc clusters on each row.  The yarn is Deborah Norville Everyday worsted, color "Cold Mountain".  It is a color I've used before, and I love it!
